[MENTION=174646]The Golden Boy[/MENTION]: I also acquired a bike with the same 30+ year-old Specialized Touring tires. I was more willing to ride 'em. After a few months the sidewalls split and the tube started creeping out the side. Fortunately, I noticed before it blew at a bad time. Now I haven't been riding that bike since it needs new tires. I think you're wise not to push your luck with those.
