It is kind of like having the most expensive house in the neighborhood with the same floor plan as everybody else, just fancier doo-dads. You won't get your money out of it. No matter what you did to that bike, it was still a Fuji SL-1 in folks' minds. The SL-1 LEs are selling right now for $1100. You were lucky to get what you did for it. Upgrading a mediocre frame has to be just for your pleasure, not for resale value. Or do it in a way that you can take the upgrades with you to your next bike, like special wheels. That makes some sense.
