I believe that my 1.1 entry level Trek is actually designed (in Waterloo Wi) to fit a target market... that is directed towards people like myself (old guy recreational cyclist). The frame is constructed to be light and responsive... but also very relaxed. For me.... the bike just feels right.

I can't believe that components like derailleurs, brakes, Brifters, or handle bar tape could change the feeling of the bicycle... even though that could change performance. Of course tires and wheels or even the saddle could effect the "feel" of the bike and maybe even performance (for wheels). But the frame is ether the heart or the soul of most bicycles.
