I too really enjoy watching these graceful creatures. Always amazes me to watch a bird that size be so eloquent and precise. He just wanted to land right on that piece of ice and nowhere else.
I've been thinking about that moment a bit. Normally eagles prefer a little personal space, but this guy chose to land right next to that other eagle, making me strongly suspect they are siblings. It's very nice to see the siblings stick together during hard times, and believe me, winter is a very hard time for a first-year eagle.
