I have happened on a discovery that has been an eyeopener. Don't know why this is but: I bought and started using the 45 North Fasterkatt winter boots (rated for >25 degrees F). Every ride now in temps up to the mid fifties, often in the rain and sometimes indoors for hours I have come home to the same phenomenon. Absolutely dry, clean feet. I wear usually silk liner socks and synthetic boot socks I picked up at REI. Maybe the boot socks are the magic. The silk socks are as wet and smelly as any other in my other shoes. (I have had ongoing foot problems from too many years in cycling shoes and started using the silk socks to help those issues. Not magic, but they do help, especially with new shoes/boots.)
