I like stuff to look nice, but there's an amount of "patina" I like. I can see the appeal of something to arrest the development of more, but letting the existing still show.

With my guitars- the ones I got used, I still see them as used guitars; the ones I got as new and pummeled the crap out of- I look at them as guitars I pummeled the crap out of- there's no one else to blame for the beatings.
