Which parts specifically do you mean? Personally, I doubt that the low end Shimano parts are that unreliable. Nor the brakes (normal Tektro low end brakes if I'm not mistaken).
I don't think there's a stone's throw difference between that bike and the cheaper Bikes Direct bikes.

They are standard bike parts, and replacements are inexpensive and easy to find on Amazon.
