This post reminds me of an incident many years ago. (Just stop me if I've told this story before; I am 80, you know).
I was pedalling home from work downhill along a historic street in Portand (the real Portland). It was a street full of shops and a favorite place to enjoy restaurants, too. On my right just as I was passing I noticed the most delightfully long pair of female legs being gracefully positioned beneath the steering wheel of a car parked at the curb. After a long distractedl look I returned my gaze to the street ahead and to my surprise on the opposite side of the street I saw my wife, my daughter and my mother-in-law staring (or glaring) at me. I was suitably chagrined. It always makes me smile to remember that day and how lucky I was to be able to ride my bike to work and to have relatives with a sense of humor.
