I think the personality of this bike does not warrant a tire bigger than a 28mm. Just makes it feel big, like going from a VW GTI to a Buick Lesabre. But that is just me if comfort and going over gravel, dirt I understand that.
I don't think I would go with a 32mm tire but the Schwalbe tire I want to use is notorious for running large. I've read reports of them actually measuring around 32mm on a 21mm rim.
