yes, i know it's a HUGE area. being close to the beach is probably ideal (even though i realize the weather on the coast could be a bit cooler than inland) for the family.

group rides don't matter so much to me. i guess they might be nice if i don't know the area (and can manage to hang on). however, i'm totally fine riding alone and honestly riding alone will probably work better for me than having to wait around and be on others' schedules. i'll be fitting in rides while on a family vacation.

just curious if there were some areas that were stand-outs for cycling...and if so, i'd consider swaying my family's decision.

i like the san dimas courses and the weather has always been nice for me.....but i think the family would rather stay nearer to the coast.
