i'm certainly new to high-end bikes and columbus tubing. before i got my davidson last summer, overhauling about a dozen mid-level bikes was my whole experience in the vintage cycling world. so i definitely need the experience of rebuilding and riding this high-end trek. i just hope all the overhauling and polishing work won't be "all for naught" once i put it back on the market.

i've also been a staunch proponent of rebuilding bikes and not parting them out. there's no doubt this one would be a great candidate for the latter. alas ...
