If they fail to respond, I call this an obvious snub. I'm not devastated, I'm pissed. I'm not saying I should be pissed, but I am. So why am I pissed? Good question. Probably because I didn't particularly feel like waving to some stranger in the first place, but grudgingly bowed to the dictates of common courtesy--only to discover that I didn't have to after all, because the other guy is a putz. And please don't argue about whether or not the other guy is a putz for not waving back--In my opinion he is. You are more than welcome to your own opinion, which apparently differs from mine.
Have you considered therapy ?
