Having missed the point i will spell it out for ya: You cannot get out of the way of something you can't see. With a mirror you can at least see if there is danger vs be oblivious.

I know you are trying to make a point, but I have no idea what it is. My point is don't unnecessarily put yourself in a position where cars have an opportunity to hit you, such as waiting to turn in the middle of a road with fast moving traffic. You wouldn't need a mirror to move out of the way (assuming you could even move out of the way) because you won't be there in the first place.
