From what I understood, he didn't love them and in fact ditched them after the first couple of stages. He may have engaged in some marketing hype before the race. As you can see, by stage 5 the hydros were gone.

He only had permission to use them on one stage. He liked that they took ed less effort to use and the better modulation. I was watching one of those tech segments that run during the stages. They had the tech rep. For the company (Shimano?) Explain how they had to get special permission to use them for the stage and he talked about Cavs impressions.
