True, I oversimplified a bit. It may work and I'd try it and see what happens before buying a new FD. It's one of those questions that's best answered by giving it a shot. There are a lot of variables at work. Fortunately, FD's aren't that pricey so if it doesn't work it's not a huge deal to slap a new one on.
