my philosophy on tire cuts like that is to ride them until it causes a catastrophic tube failure or the tire wears out, whichever comes first.
one of my Vittoria Evos with less than 1000 miles is cut and the tube is pushing the tire out a couple of millimeters. i now have about 2000 on it and going strong.
