Maybe...but the HED C2 build that I have is 28 2x and 32 3x. It's at least 100g heavier than the other two. The other variable for me is that I'm putting major cassette bites on the alloy freehub body of the DT 350 hub, whereas the other two wheelsets have steel (more durable). But I like the width and the basic (easily sourced) spokes.
If you ride your bike enough to require an alloy freehub replacement, I'd consider that a good thing
Having Belgium+ rims (laced to King R45s), I wouldn't go back to Ks or Campy/Fulcrum. Their bizzarro parts and lacings are why I left both. My old Zondas are my trainer wheels, still true enough for trainering, but aren't laser true and due to low spoke count are impossible to make laser-true.
