Yeah, I know...I lived in Montréal six years of the past ten years and have been to the shop.

But just like folks from Repentigny who tell people "Montréal" when they're asked "where are you from" by someone from the US or Saskatchewan (who would have no clue where Repentigny - or Terrebonne - is), it makes sense to me to refer to one or another of the suburbs in Greater Montréal this way on a Forum where most are not familiar with the region.
