My preference, Mercian, offers 12 Styles of frame built with 9 types of tubing, 2 types of fork, 4 geometries (or custom) an array of braze-ons and a rainbow of finishes to choose from.
The difference in "ride" is analogous to the difference in wearing an off the rack suit from Sears or a bespoke Saville row suit.
