rhm#93, Ideale dural saddle, $350

Okay, I know we Bike Forums members are a notorious bunch of cheapskates (and I wouldn't have it any other way) so I'm not expecting y'all to shout at once for this offering, but here it is. These saddles bring crazy money on eBay, which is probably where this will end up eventually.

The frame of this saddle, both the rails and the cantle plate, are aluminum. This was originally an Ideale 90 saddle from, I think, the 70's or so but when I recovered it I used stamps from a much earlier saddle, an Ideale 57 from the early 50's or even earlier. The metal badge on the back matches the 57, rather than the 90. So this saddle would look good on a restored French bike from the 40's or 50's. The rivets are brass and they do not say IDEALE on them.

Please don't pay too much attention to the color of the leather; it has already darkened a bit, and it will continue to darken as it ages.
