Already done (although this is always a work in progress.) I thru-hiked the 3,000 mile CDT with a base pack weight under 12 pounds, so believe me when I say that I've already culled the extraneous weight. I'm the guy who literally cuts the tags off my underwear.
I'd like to reach a point where I can tour with ONLY front panniers when lightweight solo touring, and with front/back when casual touring with groups or family.
