Although it's costing me, I've decided to supplement the Ready2Roll training rides with other organized rides when it looks like the former ride will be rainy. At this stage of the game, I really can't afford to miss many more training rides. I did the Gator Ride in Baytown on Saturday (the 43-mile route). The ride went through some pretty industrial parts of town, but there were some neat highlights - crossing the Fred Hartman Bridge (first time I've had to go deep into my small ring but the descent was fun), riding right past the San Jacinto Monument and Battleship Texas, and taking the Lynchburg Ferry. All in all, a very nice, well-organized ride with a super friendly group of volunteers. I highly recommend it for those who haven't tried it before.
