Hope you had good weather while in our state! It's been a tough winter. I just changed out the stock 28-45-52 of my lowly Miyata Two Ten for a 28-36-45. I have a Suntour 6-speed 13-30 FW in the rear. There basically aren't any flats where I live, so I'm either climbing or descending. If I spin out 45-13, I coast, baby. So far, I haven't missed the 52. I never used it anyway. That being said, if you're doing 4-state tours, you're probably in good shape, a strong rider, and that affects your choices with low gears. I find it's all about your fitness and the terrain. Good luck with finishing your 610! I really like my 1985 Two Ten. It was a triple with cantis that year. Here's a shot of the new rings on the Shimano "Signature" crank.
