yeah.. it needs some work for sure - and yes that is mostly how i got it. It does need some links in the chain! I wondered if that would be the first comment and purposefully posted a pic of it Big-big so you could see: but weirdly, it shifts just fine.
you cant see so well from the pic but the paint is also trashed.. sunbleached all on the top and lots of bangs and nicks. seat post is an ergopost 1, which has tons of adjustment but I have been careful, probably too careful in how much I tighten the bolt as its just into CF. So i'll level it again and then tighten a bit more.. then a bit more.. until its tight enough to hold without cracking the thing. the bars I like up (I climb a lot of hills as i mostly ride in SF), but yeah.. the tape is awesome.
for now, its a good commuter.. it would not be the first stolen off the rack and it can also take getting banged on bart and over ticket gates etc.
what is wrong with the front quick release? i have never really thought about them beyond.. stick it on and tighten.
