Bikig in to work this morning at 4am - crossing the lions gate bridge - on the down slope one the lights on my pannier strap jumped off while going over a bump. Stopped and turned around to retireve it - there was a mens wallet laying next to it. Someone will be happy when they get home and check their answering machine.

That at is quite coincidental, good for you cv. I had a roomie this past week who works for the ferries.
I think this is a good reason for roadies to use saddle bags, or heaven forbid a top tube pannier; in lieu of cramming jersey pockets full.
I used to joke with a club I rode my LHT with in Kingston that I would bring the wine and cheese in my panniers, then I got to Vancouver and I went for a club ride and was told if I wished to continue I'd have to remove my racks.
