Riding my son's 29'er

I normally ride a road bike but with all the snow and cold, the weather finally got a bit nicer. Since my son's MTB is being stored in my garage, I decided to lower the saddle and take it out.

Had a blast and gotta get me one of these.

On the way home I lost use of the front derailleur and some of the cogs in the rear due to caked up ice. I had to leave it in the sun for it to melt before putting it away.

I took it out again today and noticed some rust on the chain so after the ride I spent an hour cleaning it and lubricating the drivetrain.

It's nice not having to worry about potholes, snow and muck on the roads and paths compared to riding a road bike.
