Bikig in to work this morning at 4am - crossing the lions gate bridge - on the down slope one the lights on my pannier strap jumped off while going over a bump. Stopped and turned around to retireve it - there was a mens wallet laying next to it. Someone will be happy when they get home and check their answering machine. Funniest part: I got the guys phone number off his UCI membership card
Just to close the loop on this, the guy did come pick up his wallet and was nice enough to give me a bottle of wine.
On a weird note - on the day it happened several people at work asked me if I thought the guy had jumped off the bridge. Never occured to me as a possibility when I found the wallet, and I'm happy to say that wasn't the case, just seems like a dark place for people's minds to go...
