Exactly how I am now handling it. Sold off all of the "toy" bikes I used for recreational riding. Now I just own two utility vehicles for going to work and other necessities due to not owning a car and not having the kind of time it takes to deal with public transportation. And now I go STRAIGHT to work instead of adding 15 to 50 miles of riding before or after my workday. It's called
limiting my exposure. I can't think of a better way to not get steamrolled by a car as to simply NOT BE THERE.
