Some cyclists here also post the number of commute rides they complete in addition to mileage. Mileage isn't the only gauge of commuting involvement. In addition, many riders extend their commuters mileage by taking longer routes than the shortest possible distance between their home and work. However, in the spirit of this thread, one should not be counting recreational rides, tours and other riding as commuting mileage.
