I am building up an Allez as a race bike. I have most of the parts, and it looks like the last ones should be arriving on Saturday. My first race is on Sunday and I'm debating if I should even consider having my first ride on a fresh build in a race. I'm pretty meticulous about torquing everything to spec and double checking everything, but there is always the possibility of unforeseen problems. The geometry of the Allez is identical to my Tarmac and most of the components are the same (saddle, stem, bars, brifters, pedals etc.), the only difference is I will be putting the stem 20mm lower on the Allez.
