He mucked it up but I don't think it is trashed yet. Looks to be steel. If so a bit of lye will take care of what is left of the aluminum seat post. Then insert new seat post and beat the frame back into shape around new seat post. I mangled my surly a bit, not that much, when I had a post stick in it and fixed it that way. Now I wouldn't pay $140 for it like that.
