Living in England, there are a fair number of faster brevet riders using Carradice saddlebags. Several of them do sub-60hr PBPs unsupported. I am only a sub-70hr PBPer with fat thighs to go with the hips. The distribution of Carradice vs. speed may well be different in other countries.
