It is likely impossible to actuality calculate or predict any percent of increased safety due to reflective material or bright color. And I will concede that common sense would suggest that a bright jersey, or a reflector or two.... can't be a bad idea.

I don't believe bicycling to be particularly dangerous. I do however accept that there will be injuries. I fully expect to get hurt/injured. And yes... I have hit a car. Yes.. I wear colors when I ride. I even own little blinky lights I use from time-to-time.

I am getting to an age... where many of my old school friends can barely walk. I feel/believe I am already reaping the benefits of the marginal risk involved with cycling.
