Brand new here!! What a great subject! I too am type 2 and did not take it very serious for the first couple of years until I recently got a wake up call. Now after shedding 35lbs with 30 more to go I am just starting to ride a bike again (after 40 years!). My glucose numbers are about 115 in the morning & settle in at about 85-95 during the day. I was fitted for a bike recently to try to insure long term success but am still sore using muscles I forgot I had.... or never knew I had. Figuring out what to eat, when to eat & how much to eat before & after a ride has also been a challenge but I'm starting to dial it in a bit with help from others. I hope to gain much insight here from other long term bikers over 50 to make my riding as fruitful as possible.
