^^ Completely agree. It hopefully can fit an average 29x2.0 tire. That would be sufficient, I think. Try a Bontrager XR3.
At that point I'd call it done. You will find some limits with the fork, but before buying a better fork, I'd strongly suggest looking at used MTBs.
