I have been. It is mostly the muscle and balloon tire crowd. Booths can have some decent cheap stuff. Last time I picked up some bullmoose handlebars and an XT rear derailleur for $5 each.

I like to show up to events like these because if not many people come they stop happening. All bike events can be enjoyable even if you aren't into the particular style of bikes.
