If you're partial to Wisconsin maybe you need a Waterford...

In all honesty you can't go wrong with trek either. They changed their product line to justify the Emonda for 2015, so many shops now need to close out mid level madones. See if you can get a deal on a 4 or 5 series, you won't want for another bike this decade or longer. Domane kept its whole lineup, so it's just model year difference. My local shop has a 105 4 series for 1500-1700 depending on current sales.

Having used low and high end components back to back, I can't in good faith recommend old style (tiagra and lower) shimano brake levers, especially if your hands are small. I think they're uncomfortable and the pivot point makes braking from the hoods downright dangerous. Of course, I prefer campy. YMMV.

As far as sensors go just use the strava app with Bluetooth speed/cadence sensor and hr monitor if you care for those metrics. I find cadence useful, at least.
