Agree!

For me it's the Schwinn Paramount and anything French especially a PX-10. I just don't get the attraction.
At least those are two examples of quality machines that were designed for the active cyclists of their era, like 'em or not.

The vast pile of unremarkable low performance/indifferent quality bikes from "back when" that have sat un-used and un-missed for decades being flogged as "Vintage" for Stupid $ is what I don't get. To continue the automotive theme they are like the weak wheezing, ill handing nearly brakeless Ford Falcons of the same era: suitable for the crusher not "Classic & Vintage" status.
