I use much as you describe always during the day. I got the combo package with the tail light which also works very well. I can happily recommend this light group.
1.) How many years have you been using that same light?
2.) Do you use it on your helmet, and if so, how is the mount regarding durability
and in keeping the light stationary.
3.) "Very effective" is not very informing for me--I am a bit detail-oriented as you can observe. Is the flash pattern noticeable?
