Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

I'm so used to gear inches that I'd be reluctant to use any other system. It includes the needed factors of overall gear ratio and wheel size and, as Kopsis pointed out, gives values in an easily grasped and intuitive range. The other common system, mostly in Europe, of "Development" also makes physical sense but in the US it's not as familiar.

I hereby decree it will be gear-inches forevermore.
