Just worked on a pair of those last weekend for my cousin's. All they really needed was a good scrubbing, a little lube and a slight tweak on the rear derailleur trim on one of them. I know they've put a ton of miles on them over the past 18 years or so but they have held up well. Is your's a rigid frame? Their's have rear suspension, not sure I cared for it
