When you're out on the water for 5 or 6 hours you get the double whammy of reflected sunlight too.
I use a Buff mask too. Always a hat. And usually sun gloves, when I remember to put them on.
I'm not ultra religious about applying sunscreen. My hands are a testament to how often I didn't use it when I was younger.
The oldest looking part of me.

This thread inspired me to read about sunscreens and the chemicals they use in them. Some are a little scary. That's one reason I switched to Titanium and Zinc oxides. According to the studies I've read, the nano particles of these do not absorb through the skin, like many of the chemicals used in sunscreens do.

But like I said, it's a personal choice. Wouldn't want to "nanny" anyone.
I hear you on the shark pic, but what do I know.

I believe everything on the web, especially on a fishing blog.

I follow the same protocol as you on clothing and always wear long sleeve shirts.

My skin can't handle the day after day exposure, as we fish constantly during the season.

I'm even guiding a few groups this summer.

As for using sunscreen while biking, I like Elemental Herbs "Sunscreen Sport" for daily use. SPF 30.

Zinc oxide based, it seems to work well for me. Recommended.
