The only cycling shoes that seem both inexpensive and durable are Giro's shoes. Even some of the quality brands like Specialized fall apart after a few years. I used to ride Carnac's and now I run SIDI's exclusively. They are insanely strong. Spend around $250 on SIDI's and ride them for a decade.
