I've got some nice Shimano SL DT shifters that I like very much but want to convert them to thumb shifters. Can I just use Paul Thumbies? Riv's site says they are made to convert Bar-End shifters to thumb shifters......anybody know if I can em for my purpose?

These are gonna go on a set of Velo-Orange left bank bars as part of an xtracycle conversion I'm doing to a 70's Schwinn Super Sport. Yes I know I be crazy.
