There would be a little extra stress on the side of the seat tube vs the front.

If it was me, I'd probably buy the frame, but expect to sand out the damaged spot and add some Carbon Fiber cloth + epoxy, and still remain with a slight bulge. Some people consider CF to be very repairable.

Oh, also, what type of rear derailleur hanger does your Scott have? You might double check the hanger and hanger alignment before making the purchase.
