Thank's for the reply. I'm really new to bicycle mechanics and don't really want to ruin anything. But I'm really interested in learning, because in the future I can maintain it with out a mechanics help.

Btw if I purchase a compact chain ring, wouldn't that require to adjust a short chain because there are 2 teeth missing short ?
