To use the Hitch mounted bike rack will require the installation of a trailer hitch. The hitch will bolt into your frame rails underneath your truck. The hitch rack slides into the hitch tube and locks into place. You will not need the Ball Mount to haul bikes, but once you have the hitch installed then the ball mount will allow you to tow trailers.

You should be able to find a hitch designed to fit your truck on most sites that sell such items. You could even check with a U-Haul store as they will typically sell hitch kits.
