You're free to say whatever yet sounds silly. Normally I would ignore such comment but you might need to learn of etiquette.

Firstly, this forum thread does not encourage a bid process. More important though, I consider it a close group of enthusiast who rather enjoy offering items or trade vs. ebay or other. Yet I'm rather puzzled on your intention. Was this something you wanted to resell? Too bad you missed Steve's super deals on his bikes.

Personally, I rather enjoy dealing outside of the usual sale sites and in real $$, more so meeting in person. Its not about the money but a camaraderie thing. BTW: There's some outstanding individuals on the forum who've greatly helped me out in advice or generous in parts to complete projects. I try to do the same in return to them or often to others I've never even met.

Example- not mentioning who's getting it but I'm gifting a rather unique frameset after thinking of the individual thought it would be the ideal size. He didn't ask for it nor even knew of it. I certainly know what its worth, especially the fork (of which I was offered a Benjamin for). If I sold the fork, it would be difficult to find another, specific to match the frame. And in the end, I don't even care if he sells it. So be it and life moves on.

BTW: Here's some fairly recent buys I've had for BRAND new components from two different LBS. (With one exception, the wheelset was free on this forum. ) Sorry you missed these.
One was a so called 'rare' rear mount seat bag support by Schwinn, made by Park Tools. I paid $5 for it, and ebay curiosity shows $45. Also, the OP of this thread was with me on that day.

Two days ago, purchased a BRAND new pair of Tektro R725 calipers complete with pads for $10 total. I repeat, $10 pair with pads, brand new from the bike store.

Its going on a Columbus tubed Viner frame, Campy BB and headset that I paid $50 for. The rest of the build, full Suntour Cyclone derailleurs + triple crank was $15. Gifted Mavic wheelset. Brand new Vittoria rubber - pair $10. When I'm done with this bike and not really what I like, probably will give it away to a friend.
