Reality is that there a much safer north south option for cyclists along the Van **** corridor . A bike route one block east of VD , north of 8 Mile. The number of autos traveling on Ascention and Automobile streets are thousands less than on VD. Semi tractor trailer traffic is non -existent . Simple logic ! Less motor vehicle traffic mixing with bicycles equals less accidents between the two .
