Ordered a new bike on the weekend (Trek 7.2 disc) so this week is some of the my last commutes to work (20 minutes each way in downtown Toronto) on my current bike, "Shaniqua", a 5 year old Norco hybrid.
She's been a workhorse the last 5 years, she's been a yearround bike even in winter, real rack and fenders, carried some ridiculously heavy loads on two panniers. Cost me about $120 a year in parts 'n labor. Good bike, gonna be a bit sad selling her off and getting the new whip in a week or so.
Nooooooo, you never get rid of bikes you just get more of them! I've even come up with clever ways of hiding the old ones from my wife by calling them parts. I bought my first 'new' bike this year and although I love it I couldn't bear to get rid of its predecessor - also built frame up. But then again I'm a sentimentalist (my wife would say that's code for packrat).
Uneventful this morning though cooler then it's been - 52F. Ended up with wicked headwinds both ways yesterday, must be karma
